I will never feel like I am enough...

I want to share a deeply personal reflection on struggling with feelings of inadequacy across multiple life domains. My internal critic can be harsh - about my parenting, my business growth, my housekeeping, my personal wellness.

My professional role as a coach doesn't exempt me from societal pressures and expectations. I transparently battle with anxiety, ADHD, and autism-related sensory challenges, just like so many of you.

Here are three practical strategies I use to manage these overwhelming thoughts:

1. Noticing and observing my physical and emotional state.

2. Questioning the validity of my thoughts.

3. Taking actionable steps to meet my needs.

I reflect often on my past struggles - severe anxiety that once prevented me from leaving home with my toddler or visiting busy places. My transformation came from developing self-compassion rather than constant self-improvement.

The core message here is that sufficiency isn't contingent on perfection. We are simply an animal, surviving on this planet with endless complicated rules. Recognise your inherent worth regardless of circumstances.

We ARE enough, even amid imperfection, unmet goals, and life's daily struggles.

We talk more about self-compassion and mindset shifts over on The BIG Home Ed Conversations podcast — also on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, and follow along on Instagram and TikTok @bighomeedpodcast.
